Liege Proofed 19th Century Conceal Carry Gun
Here we present an antique Belgian Percussion Boot Pistol, made circa 1840 in Liege, Belgium. This type of pistol was very popular in 19th Century Europe, as well as the colonies. It could be stowed in the top of a boot, the belt, waistband or even a large pocket. It was of course, made primarily for self-defense, and very well would tell stories if it could.
The smooth bore barrel twists off, making loading a much easier task than jamming a ball down the muzzle. This allowed the shooter to use a larger diameter ball, creating a better gas seal for more efficiency from a small gun.
The overall condition is good. The barrel still shows good twist. The Liege proof and engraving is clear. The grip is partially broken. The bore is good. The action is mobile, but not functional.
