Description:
This is a factory engraving "Sampler" is a Colt Single Action Army Revolver with engraving executed in the styles of iconic Colt Master Engravers L.D. Nimschke, G. Young, C. Helfricht and R. Kornbrath. The barrel has the one-line address on top and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left side. The frame has the two-line/three-date patent information followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side. The barrel has scroll and punch dot engraving including on the fixed blade front sight. The sides of the frame display more scroll and punch dot engraving with a floral style border on the top strap and a two different half blossoms on the left recoil shield and loading gate respectively. The cylinder has a floral motif on a punch dot engraving between the flutes and a jagged border at the rear. The back strap has a geometric engraving with "COLT" highlighted in blue at the top. The trigger guard also features geometric engraving with scrollwork that matches the frame on the shoulders. The butt is engraved with "L.D. NIMSCHKE G. YOUNG/C. HELFRICHT R. KORNBRATH". It is fitted with dark horn grips, possibly water buffalo, with silver Colt medallions. The front of the frame is marked SAMPLER 0029. Included is the factory blue box with a white outer sleeve numbered to the gun. The end label has the firearm as a Model – P1856ES S.A.A. Sampler Std, Mod. 45 Colt, 5 ½” Barrel, Nickel Finish. SAMPLER0029 This like new revolver does not look like it has been fired or turned since it left the factory in 1980.
