Floral engraved lock signed “R. ASHMORE/& SON”. Tiger maple stock with checkered wrist. Brass mounts with brass patch box having a finial of a bird’s head with open beak. Very good overall with the metal a dark patina and the stock having a nice burnished patina as well. Well done professional repair to the wood forward of the trigger guard and about the lock plate which can hardly be seen without very close inspection. Brass mounts with lovely dark umber patina. Lock in working order and very good bore. Possibly a late Lancaster rifle made as a percussion. Very handsome. SOLD Antique: Yes |
