EXCELLENT COLT LIGHTNING .38-40 CAL. OCTAGON 26” RIFLE CIRCA 1891 WITH FACTORY LETTER. Original and matching (57,xxx range) with full length magazine and 26” barrel. Walnut stock and checkered forend. Letter states it was shipped to H.C. Squires, New York, New York on April 24, 1891. Excellent overall with 90% plus original blue and most of the case colors on the hammer. Stock and forend handle in excellent condition. Excellent screws with some original blue. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Very handsome example and reasonably priced.
