UNIQUE 17 Pistol French Made for Germans During Occupation Here we present a Nazi German Marked French Occupation “UNIQUE” Model 17 Pistol, made circa 1940 in Hendaye, France. This pistol was based on the Spanish “Ruby” pistol that had been in production since about 1914. Basque José Uria began the company in 1923, and it became known as Manufacture d’Armes des Pyrennes Francaises in 1928 when it was moved to Hendaye. When the Third Reich invaded France, they seized weapons making facilities, and this one was no exception. These pistols would go on to see use with the Wermacht. This example comes with an original holster, which has fared well. The exterior of the pistol is marked with the serial number on the rear right portion of the frame. The interior of the pistol is marked using assembly numbers. This pistol features an internal hammer. “COURT 9 COUPS” translates to “short 9 count” in French, for the pistol’s 9 round capacity of 7.65mm Browning ammunition. The grips also note “7.65/9 Schuss (shot)”. Disassembly is performed by simply ejecting the magazine, locking the slide back, then unthreading the barrel and taking the slide off to the fore. This specimen is in fine condition. The original blue finish is about 85%. The markings are clear and legible. The numbers match. The grips are in fine condition. The bore is sharp and shiny. The action is strong. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3-1/8 inches in length. Caliber: .32 ACP (7.65x17mm Browning) The bore is in fine condition and the action is strong. Overall condition as seen in photos. Here is your chance to own a Third Reich pistol from France during the Occupation. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL.
