RARE CHINESE TAKU NAVAL DOCKYARD TYPE II FLATSIDE MAUSER C96 BROOMHANDLE 7.63MM PISTOL. Serial number "98" on frame, hammer and other various parts with mismatched slide and bolt. Arsenal refinished overall with Importer stamp on triggerguard (A.A.A., Rutherford, NC). Excellent bore with good lands and grooves. Chinese Taku Dockyard affiliation evidenced by large ring hammer and flatside with taper step down of magazine well as well as short extracot. Thicker frame at pistol grip. Cut for stock. A large number of these were imported in the mid 1980's and refurbished with beautifully grained grip panels and a nice dull blue finish as this one has. Affordable example of perfectly copied 1896 broomhandle that functions as it should. These type II's were made between 1928 and 1933 and serial numbered in sequence from 1-3500.
