This Colt SAA is a very historical revolver used during the Philappine Insurrection. The provenance associated with this unique gun is well documented in history and is explained in the included framed documents. The ivory grips were added at some point in its 130 years history. All serial numbers match along with a clear US and DHC inspector stamping on the frame. This revolver has a mint bore and is mechanically without issue.
?This gun includes the original Colt letter documenting the revolvers history along with a historical perspective written by the museum curator who worked on the display. In addition the framed display includes an original Philappine Insurrrection War Department Medal issued to the veterans of that campaign.
