Antique Colt New Line .22 Revolver
With Rare Special Order Extra Long Barrel
Here we present an antique Colt New Line Revolver, made 1873-77 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt New Line was a small, spur trigger revolver that held 7 shots of .22 rimfire and slipped easily into a pocket. These pistols were used as self-defense weapons during the late 19th century in big eastern cities and western boomtowns.
This specimen is in very good condition. The barrel is the really unique feature that makes this stand out among others. Standard length was 2.25 inches, but this one boasts a 2.75 inch barrel. The acid etched panel on the left side of the barrel is clear and reads “Colt New 22”. The barrel legend is also clear. About 80% of the original nickel finish remains. Bore is very good. Action is very good. Grips are in fine condition. Serial numbers match.
