Rare Battle-tested Horse Pistol
Here is the venerable Colt Third Model Dragoon revolver. This pistol was designed for use by horse-mounted rifleman, and it is so much pistol that you will want a horse to carry it for you. This pistol weighs in at over 4 pounds.
The Third Model was first offered in 1850 and continued production through 1861, for a total of about 10,400. While this certainly was not a large production to begin with, these pistols experienced some of the hardest years in American history, not the least of which was the American Civil War. It is quite amazing that we still have specimens today.
