Description:
This is a lightly used Winchester Model 1897 pump action takedown shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. Serial numbers on the receiver and barrel assembly match. Barrel is 28" choked modified with an excellent bright strong bore. Barrel retains about 97-98% original blue finish with light handling marks and a speck or two of surface oxidation. The receiver retains about 93-94% original blue with some light scratches and rub marks on the high edges. The smooth walnut pistolgrip buttstock has some light marks, usage marks and fine spots of lightly flaking finish. The grooved walnut forend has a solitary older chip missing on the left breech end side; but is otherwise in excellent condition. We don't often see 1897 shotguns in this state of condition.
