Description:
Serial #474085, .30-40 U.S., 30” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue along the barrel with a mottled plum-brown patina on the top of the barrel just ahead of the handguard. The magazine door has much of the original blue remaining, and the bolt has a dark pewter gray patina with about 50-60% of the original bright fire blue remaining on the extractor. The rifle is equipped with a Model 1901 rear sight, and the walnut stock and handguard are in fine condition with some scattered minor handling marks and small blemishes marring the added varnish, as well as a still crisp “JSA/1908” cartouche on the left side of the wrist. The steel buttplate has a lightly mottled patina, the stock compartment is vacant, and a brass muzzle-cover is included. This is an excellent example of a late model U.S. Krag-Jorgensen and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
