This is an “S/42” coded pistol with 1938 chamber date and all-matching numbers that retains 90-92% of the original blue finish with some mild silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the projecting edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the toggle and bolt. A Kriegsmarine property stamp is present on the backstrap: “N/2535” (Nordsee, Wilhelmshaven). Additionally, there is a very small and unobtrusive import mark along the underside of the barrel, with traces of the original white filling still present within the “GESICHERT” marking. The checkered wooden grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have light wear throughout with flattening of the points on either side, mainly around the butt. The left panel is very slightly loose, and a single, non-matching aluminum base magazine is included. This is a fine-near excellent example of a late 30's pre-war Luger.
