Description:
The Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" was made from 1877 to 1909, with over 166,000 manufactured. The 6 shot double action revolvers were fitted with a 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2 or 6 inch barrel, long cylinder fluting, blue finished with case hardened frame or full nickel finished, and were chambered in .38 Colt. This gun is as described, is fitted with a 4 1/2 inch barrel, with ejector rod/housing, and is blue/color case-hardened finished. This 1900 vintage Colt is an excellent example of its type, retaining 85% of its original blue finishes (most thinning on the front strap and back-strap) and the frame retaining about 80% of its original color case-hardened finish. The checkered hard rubber "Rampant Colt" grips are in excellent condition, with sharp checkering, fantastic fit, and with only one ding on the left grip panel. The action functions perfectly and has a tight lock-up. Geat bore. All screw-heads are mostly un-molested.
