Model 1884 trapdoor for sale. Lock markings have "US/Springfield" with eagle. Breechblock markings US/MODEL/1884. 22" barrel with Buffington rear sight. NOTE: rear sight is stamped "R" on tilt-up leaf. Hardwood stock in good condition. One crack noted at forend and visible in pictures. No cartouche marks. Steel buttplate with built-in compartment for cleaning rod and kit. Serial number 393537. Bore is clean. Rifling is sharp. Case hardening is faded. Barrel blueing has light freckling transition to brown patina.
