We encourage that the buyer contact the dealer before we transfer the gun to them for pick-up to insure that there are no problems with your transfer. If the dealer refuses to accept delivery of your firearm, you will be responsible for shipping charges to recover the firearm and reship it to a dealer that is willing to receive it.

Firearm was taken on trade through our retail store, overall condition is very good. There are few signs of being used and carried on this rifle but nothing too major. For a rifle that was offered as the "economy option" the quality of construction in the action is still much nicer than what is still being produced today. Pictures are of the exact firearm that you will receive!
This rifle is a JM stamped Marlin and was manufactured several years prior to being bought out by Remington. The action on this rifle is very smooth and trigger is crisp and smooth as is the action. For many years, Marlin produced a less-expensive Glenfield line of Model 336 rifles for retail at mass merchandise and department stores including: J.C. Penney, Sears Roebuck & Company, Western Auto, K-Mart and others. Marlin sold these rifles as the Models 30, 30A, 30AS or 30AW. Other Model 336 production rifles were stamped with names chosen by the retailer, such as the J.C. Higgins (Sears) Model 45 and Model 50, the Montgomery Ward Western Field Model 740-A EMN, the J.C. Penney Foremost Model 3040.
Mechanically identical to the Model 336, these "economy" rifles were typically fitted with lower-cost hardwood (birch) stocks and forearms, and some smaller features such as grip caps recoil pads and front sight hoods were eliminated in the interest of lowering unit cost.
