Side Lever Hall. Breechblock markings U.S./S.NORTH/MIDLTN/CONN/1851 Has inspector cartouche on both sides of stock. Barrel is rifled and believed to be one of 5,000 units that were retrofitted in the infamous “Hall Carbine Affair”. Note: bore gauge indicates .52 caliber while historical reference suggests the retrofit barrels were .58 caliber.
