Description:
Up for sale is this beautiful old and all original double barrel hammer gun in 10 gauge. No sanding, cutting, polishing, or alterations of any kind have taken place. The wood has beautiful figure with honest wear that you would expect after being in the field all this time. No cracks just some dings and dents, like I said this gun is use to hunting not hanging.The checkering being worn about 60% runs smooth up to the steel, I dont think the metal and wood have ever been separated. The exposed metal finish has a nice dark patina but not messed with. Under the forend the Damascus pattern is visible and gives you a glimpse of what the barrels could look like. There is minor engraving but Im not sure of the grade. The action is slightly loose but definately not that bad and could be ealily tightened up in a restoration if thats what you want to do with her, the grain of the wood and the damascus pattern are really beautiful. If this gun were to be rebuilt and maybe sleeved with modern tubes in 20 gauge, it would be a real looker on the upland field. If your interested please call me at (916)652-4867 my name is Ed
