Description:
Contemporary 10 gauge brass 20" barrel Blunderbuss. The muzzel measures 1 3/4". The large muzzel was to facilitae the loading of the gun on unstable decks of ships and the seat of a moving coach. The barrel was made by Ed Rayl anf the English style flintlock is from Jim Chambers. The gun was made and engraved by Fred Bowen. The gun is equiped with a shoulder strap to keep the gunner from loosing the gun in action. The tang is engraved "No. 2" and the sideplate is engraved with Drums and Flags as were many originals. The lock and barrel are engraved with Fred's name and the lock, butt plate and breech are engraved taistfully. This is a fully funtional gun and work of art sutable for use or display. The gun and strap weigh 7 pounds and 7 ounces.
