Description:
Gun was presented by President Roosevelt to a hunting buddy. Cal 35 WCF. Orig sights. Original carved grade "B" checkered dlx wood in fine condition with an old refinish having been applied some time ago. Overall gun has been refinished and retains virtually all of that reblue. Was nicely done and is very attractive. There are several gold inlaid animals as well as gold borders. Tight scroll engraving covers most all of the gun. Marked on the lower tang is the stamp of John Ulrich, the engraver. This gun is well documented with a couple of Letters from R.L. Wilson and is also pictured in "The Texas Gun Collectors Antique Arms Annual" pg. 142 center gun. This gun was in the Jimmy Fowler collection and then to Greg Martin's collection. A superb historically significant Winchester that deserves to be in the worlds finest collection!
