Description:
Scarce cal 405 Winchester. This gun is pictured in "Texas Gun Collectors Antique Arms Annual" pg.43. Also pictured in "Winchester Engraving " by R.L. Wilson on pg. 234. This 1895 is well documented. I remember that years ago it was in the collection of Jonathan Peck from Hartford CT. He displayed it at various gun shows with six other guns and called his display "The Magnificent Seven". It was a fantastic display that won him numerous rewards. Mr. Peck was one of the great old collectors of the Antique Gun Business! A wonderful gun with special order extra length deluxe carved stock measuring 14-1/2". Gun is in superb condition with nearly all original blue. A few high line edge wear areas. Take up ring is starting to turn plum/brown some. Wood is carved in the "B" style carving and is excellent condition with shotgun style buttplate. Original sights feature the folding 3-leaf express sight. A beautiful gun that would be hard to improve upon!
