Description:
This Henry was the first batch of government ordered Henrys for the Civil War with the "C G C" inspector markings on the right side. Serial number is 3427. This Henry rifle has that beautiful brass patina that you would want to see on one of these. Nice smooth metal. A couple of light scratches but overall very nice condition with sharp edges. For being a Civil War Henry, the wood is also exceptional on this gun. It has it's share of scrapes and scratches but no excessive damage. There is still a visible cartouche on the wood just down from the comb. Another plus is the "Henry bump" which is present and very visible. About the only detraction is the bbl that is mostly a grey/brown blochy color. My guess is that someone cleaned this half a century ago or so. It does have the correct Henry sight with slider intact. All Henry rifles are great collectables and especially Civil War Martially marked Henrys!
