Colt U.S. Mdl 1911 A1 Cal. .45acp, Ser 490XX. Mfg. 1913.
This is a really nice Anniston Arsenal rebuild to an Mdl A 1. The gun retains about 90-95% of the arsenal parkerizing. The only loss is sharp edge silvering the usual take down lever scratch and a holster rub mark on the front of the framer and just below the serial number.
All parts are correct as it left the arsenal.
The brown plastic small ring grips are proper for the period. They are in mint condition showing no use. Not chip or even a flattened point. The grip screws are un-marred.
The bolt face, slide rails and feed ramp show little if any wear. The High Standard barrel is a proper WW II arsenal replacement.
The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. There is not a hint of frost anywhere.
If you don’t think it could get any better this Colt comes with what we believe is its box from Anniston Arsenal. The label is clear and easily legible. What a find! Two world wars, over 100 years old, and still as tight as the day it was made. It is lovely to look at and should be outstanding on the range......$2395
