Elaborately customized Winchester Model 1873 rifle, fitted with a 28 inch octagon barrel (this was an optional barrel length for the 1873, 24 inch was the standard), nicely figured checkered walnut stock and forearm, Marble tang sight, Marble plug replacing the rear sight, full length tube magazine, and chambered in 32-20. What really sets this 1893 vintage gun out from the rest is the engraved receiver with nicely done silver deer attached on both sides of the receiver and the Winchester trademark horse and rider on the bottom of the receiver. The barrel has engraving at the muzzle and engraving and inlay at the breech. The hammer has engraving and silver wire inlays and the lever has some inlay work. The receiver and forearm cap have a antique grey finish and the barrel, magazine tube, lever, and crescent butt-plate are finished with a matte blue. The bore is bright and the action functions perfectly. This would make a great movie gun. This is considered a antique firearm, FFL not required.
