Savage, lever action TAKEDOWN SHORT RIFLE, Model 99 STANDARD, RARE CALIBER .25-35, s/n 126276 (Mfg. 1912), ONE OF THIRTY SAVAGES RECENTLY RELEASED FROM A PRIVATE 99 COLLECTION, NEVER GUN SHOWED AROUND,
RECEIVER: TAKEDOWN, internal rotary magazine, brass cartridge counter and magazine follower, loaded cocking indicator on top tang, safety by lever, top tang factory drilled and tapped for tangent sight, finish worn off, exhibits a greyish patina all over but no pitting, some light scratches on right side, lever exhibits 100% patina, lever boss code "H" in a circle,
BARREL: length 20”, BORE GOOD TO VERY GOOD, unusual Savage factory open rear elevator sight, small ramp front sight with blade, retains original blue in 30% condition exhibiting light speckled tarnish all over but no pitting, ALSO EQUIPPED WITH LYMAN REAR TANGENT SIGHT (VALUABLE),
