Description:
Please study the pictures and ask any questions before . This is a fine example of a 44 Caliber Colt 1860 Army Percussion Revolver. Its serial number, 180466, suggests it was manufactured in 1869. This serial number appears on the barrel, the frame, trigger guard, and butt strap. The top of the barrel is marked “U.S. AMERICA –“ and the left side of the frame is marked “COLTS / PATENT”. The numbers 291 appear on the cylinder and “44 Cal” is stamped into the left side of the brass trigger guard. There are no other markings or cartouches that I can see.
Condition: The barrel and cylinder appear to have been reblued and there is some slight pitting and frackeling. The frame also has minor freckling and surface wear. Screw heads are sharp. The trigger guard has a nice patina with very minor pitting. The hardwood grips have aged nicely with the butt showing some wear. Gun appears to have good timing betweenhammer and cylinder.
Don’t miss this opportunity to own an original very collectable firearm for a lot less than an unrefinisned example.
