Description:
Indian tanned, buckskin leather gauntlet gloves. Expertly made these gloves show the original smoke color. They are velvety soft and flexible. These Leather Gauntlet Gloves are hand sewn and hand beaded in a floral pattern. Beading on the gauntlet area and the entire back of the hand. All beading is tight with only a few missing beads in the knuckle area, you have to look close to see. The Star/Flower on the cuff is made up of white heart and cobalt blue seed beads. The beading was done by stitching and sewing down one bead at a time, a task that takes a lot of tedious work to complete.  All seams are fully welted, again a sign of the best in craftsmanship. I believe these gauntlets were originally made in the 19th century.  The gauntlet is lined in plaid cotton flannel and the edge of the cuff is blanket stitched with cotton thread which has not stood up well to time. It would be an easy matter to redo the blanket stitch if you wish.  There are no rips or tears. These will fit a large or medium-sized man's hand. They measure 13" long by 8 1/2" wide at the cuff. These gauntlet gloves are in near perfect condition and have had no wear. They are a wonderful Old West collectable.
