Description:
Art Deco looking, silver over ivory cane. The Hippo ivory “L” handle is 1 1/4" high and 4 1/2" long. It has carved grooves that the silver is sunk into. Blunt on the end where the silver over caps it. Additionally, it is encased in a decorated lattice silver cage with its owners name: “T.R. Delaney”. Delaney is said to be a riverboat Captain on the Missouri river, however I can not find a record of him.The shaft is a hard wood that terminates with a 2 1/4" brass ferrule. The overall length is 36" and the condition is very good. It is American, ca 1890. The handle and wood are all stable and ready to use.
