cased chisel-engraved Purdey 2-bbl set #18831 from the James D Julia in March 2011. The gun has been in my collection for the past 6 years and is in the same condition as it was in when it was offered in the James D Julia . The case has been correctly relined with maroon wool cloth matching the original, and I have added a full complement of Purdey-marked cleaning accessories, 3 turnscrews, a plated oil bottle, a chamber brush, etc, etc. I think I have only used the gun on one or two occasions over the past 6 years, at Vintagers clay shoots. The gun was mis-described in the March 2011 catalogue as having been built in 1907 as a plain-finished "funeral" model. I checked with Purdey and the gun was in fact finished in its current chisel-engraved state for a Mr Fowler, and subsequently restocked, refinished and cased in 1919 for Henry Graves through Von Lengerke & Dettmold, all as detailed in the first attachment. Also attached are a full set of James D Julia pics of the gun, as provided by the eer at the time of purchase. If you are seriously interested I can provide several pictures of the gun in its case showing the accessories. The gun is with me here in Australia and the quoted price of US$70,000 covers delivery to a US FFL dealer.
