Description:

ERFURT 98A 8mm caliber rifle. WWI German Military carbine Arsenal refurbished during the Weimar Era. Receiver is double dated 1917 and 1920. Manufactured in 1917. The 1920 date denoting government reissue. Serial numbers are matching, wood is un-numbered but has 1920 date. Butt plate is R.F.V. 4021 marked. Most likely a Weimar Era marking. Bore is good with strong rifling. Wood is very good with minor nicks and dings. Very good overall condition. A good Weimar Era rework with unit marking.
