GREAT DEPRESSION ERA OFFICERS MODEL "HEAVY BARREL" .38 SPECIAL REVOLVER, MADE 1938,a very nice example showing minimal, light use, this was the top of the line target revolver in this frame size offered by Colt and this one was made when production numbers were small and only the best craftsmen were retained by Colt because of the dire economic situation throughout the USA. Superb quality and all hand fitted and tuned, the action, single action and double action trigger pull, has to be felt to be believed! Retains about all the blue with only minor wear at each side of the muzzle and some handling wear to the front strap and bottom of the trigger guard, nice fire blue on the hammer back and trigger, original adjustable sights, tight action, nice fire blue on the trigger and hammer back, sharp markings including the last patent date of 1926 and "HEAVY BARREL" on the barrel and clear rampant Colt stamping on the frame side, exc. checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions, too expensive to produce today.
