Description:
This fine London double rifle is in excellent condition and dates from 1925. For those concerned about bore condition, have no concerns here. Both barrels are bright with sharp rifling. Barrel flats show nitro proofs from London and are marked 9.3x74. and 60GRS-285. Original proofs were for the 400-360 and was reproofed for the 9.3x74R at a later date. This was a common occurrence in the UK as the 400-360 had four versions that did not interchange and became hard to obtain in any version in later years. The 9.3x74R is the metric equivalent and is internationally respected and obtainable today. As I understand it was only a slight adjustment of the chamber and a reproof to make many of the old 400-360 rifles effective once more.
Other high grade features include chopperlump barrels, bushed firing pins, gold name, and a dolls head extension with an extra bite. The Scope is a VX-III-5x20mm Leupold.
