This is a Marlin 1881 rifle in .38-55 The action still shows some case colors along with patina. The 24 inch octagon barrel and full length magazine tube show some blue with Very Good patina. The bore has strong rifling with some pitting visible. There is a buckhorn rear sight with the elevator missing and a front blade sight. The lever is loose. The stock has been sanded and refinished. The steel crescent buttplate is Very Good.
