VERY RARE REMINGTON NEW MODEL POLICE .36 CAL. PERCUSSION REVOLVER W/ AMERICAN EXPRESS MARKING CA. 1860’S. 5 shot with 4 ½” octagon barrel with “E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y./NEW MODEL” address with the 1858 patent date. All original and fine with crisp metal and good markings with top strap engraved “AMERICAN/EXPRESS CO. NO.4”. Traces of original blue in the recesses and very nice grips with the original finish and nearly all the varnish. Fine bore and working order. Only a very small number made-probably less than 50 by Remington for American Express. Ideal small size made it very practical for Express Riders of that era. Only one we have had and from a famous old Remington collection. First time on the market in over 40 years. 100% original in every respect.
