EARLY CIVIL WAR REMINGTON-BEALS PATENT .44 CAL. PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER CA. 1861. 6 shot with 8” barrel having the “BEALS PATENT SEPT. 14, 1858/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y.” address. Serial number in the 8xx rang and all original and matching. Within the serial range of Beal’s Patent Army Revolvers issued to the 1st Iowa Volunteer Cavalry. Less than 1900 made. Only 750 bought by the Union early in the Civil War. Crisp brownish-grey patina on metal and excellent markings. Fine screws and nipples. Grips in excellent condition with all the finish. Excellent and tight working order and very good bore with crisp rifling. Old Remington collection provenance and first time on the market in over 40 years. Very scarce.
