Description:
Very nice transition model Pre 64 Winchester model 70 in .220 Swift. 26" stainless barrel. S/N 74*** with matching bolt Mfg. 1947. Blue is excellent throughout at least 97% other than the butt plate which is starting to show some patina. The top of rear receiver bridge has the shallow start of a drill hole before someone came to their senses and halted the process. (shown in last image). It is hidden by the Weaver scope base which I have left in place. Wood is in very good condition with consistent finish and light impressions throughout, but no cracks or significant marks. Mechanics are like new as are the bore and throat.
Overall, a VG-Excellent rifle in a somewhat scarce configuration.
