Here is a very nice Kimber of Oregon, Clackamas, Model 84 Super America chambered in .222 Rem. This is
an earlier model, serial # satd940 and I have found it difficult to get the manufacture dates for Kimber of Oregon rifles
It is pre-1986 as it has the plastic grip cap and the polished metal grip cap became standard in 1986.
The rifle has the niedner butt plate, rear folding express sight, a bead front ramp sight and "rare"
Kimber Double Lever Detachable Scope Mounts. The iron sights and the Double Lever Detachable Scope Mounts
were upgrades. There were two scope mounts available at the time the standard mounts and the
Double Lever Detachable which were more expensive. So these mounts are quite scarce.
This is a collector grade rifle with upgrades, "very" nice wood and outstanding polished blue finish.
The only distractions would be a couple small nicks near the rear stud swivel which are visible in a photo
It is difficult to find the older Kimber Model 84 Super Americas in this condition.
Even more difficult to find one chambered in anything other than .223.
