Hi,
I am looking to sell my beautiful pre 64 Winchester Model 70 African. I came into this rifle some time ago from an estate. The gun was made in 1960 (serial 479,535) and as far as I know, was a one owner gun from the time it was purchased in 1960, until I came home with it. The gun is in 99% overall condition, near new. The only marks are one small indentation on the bottom of the rubber buttpad from storage, and a small mark on one side of the black forend tip. Barely worth mentioning, but want to point them out. Bolt serialed to the gun, everything as it should be, not a screw turned. Bore mint. Gorgeous rifle, only thing missing are the hang tags and box. I do not have the sling hangers nor sling, they were not with the rifle when I brought it home.
As you likely know if you are looking at this rifle, there were only 1226 Africans made, and how many remain to be had in high original condition given many had their stocks cracked, and once you get big collectors with 2 or 3 of them in their collection, leaves very few out there.
I am in Canada, so if you are in the USA, you will have to import the rifle through an FFL. If you are uncertain of the process, I can likely put you in touch with someone who has done it without issue, As such, and I know there are extra fees to import, I have priced it at $7250 - plus shipping. I will ship in a hard case. I have been told by a US Winchester collector (Author of Winchester Red Book of Values) that it is an $8500 minimum rifle. I have seen a few on here priced higher, and none as fine as this rifle.
