Payment Types Accepted: Description: Before 1816 there were no regulation models for French cavalry officer pistols, so officers usually bought them from civilian workshops or Versailles. However, at least St Etienne was allowed to produce more ornate versions of regulation pistols for officers to buy. I have seen three examples, including this one and a much more ornate one held by the the Morges Museum. There is a large photo on Wikipedia at "Pistolet modèle An XIII". I much prefer the simple elegance of this one, which just has incise carving to the grip, blued backstrap, sous garde, trigger, ramrod and screws, and a very high level of finish quality. Overall condition is exceptional and the metal polish is factory new in protected areas like under the barrel and inside the frizzen spring on the lockplate. It even retains the heat discoloration on the barrel tang. Everything on this gun us marked and matching, including the screws. You will go a long time before you see another An 13 as nice as this one. Paypal accepted if you pay an additional 3%. Otherwise, checks and MO's are fine. I will ship this pistol to France. Thanks for looking! SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
