Remington, CURIO/RELIC OK OR FFL, bolt action rifle, MODEL 1903 A4, caliber .30-06, s/n 3416773 (ALL 29,964, 1903 A4'S WERE PRODUCED IN 1943 (THIS ONE IN NOVEMBER '43), ALL 1903 A4'S WERE MARKED "US" OVER "REMINGTON" OVER "03-A3" OFF TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RECEIVER WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER OFF TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RECEIVER, being marked in this way allowed a scope mount to be attached to the top of the receiver and still leave the ID markings visible, THE MUZZLE END OF THE BARREL HAD NO FRONT SIGHT MOUNTED AND WAS MARKED ""RA" OVER THE "FLAMING BOMB" OVER THE DATE (IN THIS CASE "11/43"), the receiver, barrel, trigger guard, floorplate, and barrel band retain 100% of their original Parkerizing, EXCELLENT BORE, OF COURSE,
The wood also retains 100% of its original finish exhibiting only a couple of minor handling/storage marks, pistol grip is marked with a "P" proof in a circle which is correct for an original rifle, stock is also marked with the "CROSSED CANNONS" military acceptance stamp and "FJA" for Frank J Atwoods inspection group, there are also various small inspection markings in front of the floorplate as there should be, the "2" on the buttstock is a military rack mark,
FINALLY, THIS RIFLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FAMOUS, AND HARD TO FIND, ORIGINAL U. S. MILITARY "M84" TELESCOPIC SIGHT, ACCORDING TO THE LITERATURE THIS SCOPE IS ONE OF THE SCARCE CORRECT MODELS THAT WERE MOUNTED ON THE RIFLE, there are military photos of some equipped this way and there are no military arsenal markings indicating that this rifle had been sent back to an arseanl for work, IT IS DEFINITELY THE SUPERIOR SIGHT FOR A SNIPER RIFLE OF THAT TIME,
