Description:
Here for your consideration is a nice 1921 Parker DHE in 16 gauge on a 1 frame that can be used as an everyday shooter on the clays courses or in the field. I have had this Parker for several years and purchased from the son of the original owner. At the time I purchased it, it had a broken right ejector and a short length of pull. I contacted Larry Delgrego and drove the gun to him for evaluation and repair. Larry went over the entire gun, servicing the interior, fixing the ejector with original Parker parts, adding the recoil pad, recutting checkering and refinishing the buttstock, and lengthening the chambers to 2 3/4 inches. It has since been serving me quite well both in the clays courses and the grouse coverts.
When I went to pickup this 16 I commented to Larry that the buttstock was lighter than the forend and asked if it was the result of his refinishing. He advised that it was partly the issue, but rather he checked their shop records and as it turns out the gun had been sent to Larry's grandfather in 1961 to have a new buttstock put on it, thus the difference in color. While it is a replacement stock, it was done by an original Parker employee! The only thing that is a bit different is that on the barrel flats, one will see that at some point, the original owner had the chokes engraved underneath.
