Description:
Excellent Winchester 42 Skeet .410 pump action shotgun with the rare and highly coveted Solid Matted Rib. 26" Barrel. 3" Chamber. Skeet choke. S/N 93*** Mfg. 1952. The original bluing is in very good shape showing only light handling marks and some high edge wear, a very light scuff on left receiver flat, and the usual rub marks from fore end. The wood is equally fine with only scattered light handling marks. Mechanics and bore are excellent. This is a highly collectible shotgun in it's very difficult to find original configuration. I estimate that 90% or more of all the higher grade 42s you will see have been altered, customized, or are outright fakes. This is the most genuine and honest example of a factory solid rib skeet grade that I am aware of, and among the better conditioned of legitimate examples that I have personally handled. 100% original!
