Description:
Heavy 30 ½” octagonal barrel with patent breech in .42 caliber rifled bore. Dovetailed front blade sight and rear spur sight, flat engraved lock plate & hammer. Curly maple with large relief rounded cheek piece. German silver nose cap, plain brass trigger guard, butt plate, toe plate, barrel key escutcheons and ramrod ferrules. Good condition with metal surfaces carrying a grey patina, barrel shows worn edges and scattered marks. Replacement steel ramrod & nipple. Stock is very good showing scattered use marks with small piece of wood replaced on left side near nose cap. Mechanically sound with strong bore.
