Some of the first Ruger Superblackhawks were shipped in a form fitted wooden box with red felt and a Ruger logo, ( see the picture ) not many however. I suspect that it was too expensive and time consuming to continue this process.
I have owned this gun for well over 30 years and am now putting it up for sale. Obviously this is a great piece for a Ruger collector. I believe that the gun has ony been factory fired and the factory bluing on these early "Supers" is superb.The gun has an early non prefix serial number which in itself is quite collectable.
Several of the old time gun writers said that the Ruger Super Blackhawk is the finest revolver ever made.
