William Evans 28 ga Very nice, light English game gun by Wm Evans made after he left Purdey, this one from about 1911 with serial# 11,6xx. There is an abundance of proofs and reproofs on the barrel flats that someone with more experience than I will be able to decipher. The action is very tight and smooth to open and close. I've not fired it but the owner stated that it was flawless in operation. The single trigger is non selective and was likely origional from the factory as the trigger bow would not accomodate 2 triggers. Bores are bright and shiny with the rt bbl about .545 and the left .538 choked. Length of pull is 13 1/2" with the pad. Examine the pictures, one shows some evidence of rib resolder but the barrels ring true- like a bell. The rest show the quality and beauty of this fine English 28ga. Owner wants some action.
