Description:
Beautiful best quality English Double, 6 1/2# light, rechambered and reproofed, restored to as new condition. Infallable single selective trigger- watch the selector move to indicate the next barrel to fire. Non auto safety and of course, auto ejectors. Stunning wood, nice case colors and extra coverage engraving along with very fine checkering. Very pretty shotgun that handles like a dream. The Whitworth compressed steel barrels add a great deal of extra value to the gun- probably cost an extra 50% and allowed the extreme light weight because the steel had no air pockets or voids due to the compression applied when molten. Barrels could be made much thinner and still possess the strength necessary for modern nitro ammo.  This gun was produced in the era of 1901- 1913 and carries the barrel address of 29 Glasshouse St  Picadilly Circus London and also Sir Joseph Whitworth Fluid Pressed Steel. Westley Richards bought the patents in 1916 and continued marketing guns as F.T. Baker. The barrel chokes measure approximately L.006 constriction and R .012 constriction.
