Description:
Parker VHE 12 Gauge Side-by-Side
FACTORY VENT RIB, BEAVERTAIL, LIVE BIRD, 32”

General Specs: Parker, Year 1926, 12 Gauge, 9lbs 7oz, SxS
Serial Number: 216579

Here we have a VERY RARE PARKER VHE 12 GAUGE GUN.  How can a VHE be rare? The answer is the configuration.  Ordered with a ventilated rib (only 201 VHE 12ga. w/vr), beavertail forearm (163 VHE 12's w/factory beavertails), 32" barrels (4543 made w/32’s), and IT IS A FACTORY LIVE BIRD GUN ORDERED WITH NO SAFETY.  Vintage gunners who are serious competitors recognize the American gun companies put their utmost effort into every LIVE BIRD GUN they built, utilizing their best barrel men to chamber, bore, and choke the gun to shoot the very best possible.  These competition guns were overbored at the factory and the chokes were long and gradually tapered.  The shooting sports of the day were a societal affair, with great wealth attending the competitive shoots, and the results cementing the reputation of the winning gun’s maker.  Live bird guns were the “race guns” of the day.  This Parker, sn216579 built in 1926, was ordered as a serious trap or live bird gun.  Look the photos over closely; the reinforced forend lug, the Parker action with the raised flat section only found on vent rib guns, the original engraving where the safety should be...this is all documented by the accompanying factory letter.  The only thing not factory besides the new wood is a Miller single selective trigger installed long ago.  The Miller SST has always been considered the finest SST you can buy.  This gun is the ultimate gun for today’s gunner looking to win events in the pigeon ring, trap fields, or sporting clays events.  No better long-range shotgun could be had for turkey, waterfowl, pigeons, doves, crows, or late season pheasants.  Can you imagine blocking the end of a 100 row stand of corn as the flushers and dogs worked toward you…your “killing range” a solid 65 yards right, 65 yards left, and 65 yards vertically?  DEVASTATION TO THE ROOSTERS! You can buy this gun as it is, ready to shoot serious competitions and live game, or you can have the wood replaced to Parker factory specs.  Our shop can restock this gun to your specifications and Parker perfection for $4000 with your choice of properly figured European walnut.  The mechanics of the gun are superb in all ways, with the barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face, perfect bores, strong well-timed ejectors, crisp trigger pulls (Miller selector switch purposely pegged to fire the left barrel first to minimize recovery for the second shot.  On a F/F choked gun this is THE way to go), no cracks or repairs, tight ribs…the gun is awesome.  It even retains lots of factory condition with 90% factory case color and 98% factory blue.  You have choices on this one, but she is ready to go as is for a very affordable price.  She will shoot the same either way.  Thanks for looking, and call us to discuss the details.
