Description:
Webley & Scott 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
2 BARREL SET, 28” & 30”, GREAT UPLAND SET, EJECTORS, CHEAP!!!

General Specs: Webley & Scott, Year 1912, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 9oz, SxS
Serial Number: 89937

Here we have a solid field gun from a great English maker, Webley and Scott, Ltd.  This firm began its stint in 1906 and built fine guns right into the 1970’s.  They are back in business again at this date.  Webley & Scott made more double shotguns than any other British firm, and made guns that ran the gamut from simple field guns to beautifully engraved “BEST GUNS”.  All of the guns they produced are considered quality guns and have been well respected for over 100 years.  This gun, sn89937 made in 1912, is a simple Boxlock Ejector with no engraving but nicely figured English walnut stock.  The gun shipped with 28” barrels that are presently choked SK/LM, perfect bird chokes for the wooded coverts or hunting over pointing dogs.  Sometime after the gun was made, a second set of 30” barrels were made and fitted to the gun that are choked LM/F, a perfect set for late season grouse and pheasants.  What a great hunting gun, with modern 2 ¾” chambers, the best range of chokes for all your hunting needs, nice stock dimensions, solid mechanics, and a very affordable price.  We likely have a vintage, well used case we could supply to house the two-barrel set at a very moderate added cost.  If you ever wanted a noted English double gun in the lightweight 16ga., the perfect upland gun, and a two-barrel set no less, this is your chance.  Thanks for looking!
