It carries a pre-production serial number GX6034. The Frontier Scout was offered in 4 3/4" and 9 1/2". The barrel length of this prototype is 7 1/2". Colt made a decision not to offer this barrel length in the Frontier Scout which mades this prototype a one of a kind 22 revolver. The majority of  developmental guns are either destroyed or kept by Colt. This is a rarer opportunity to own a Colt experimental pistol that left the factory with a retiring employee.
