Colt 1851 Navy Civil War 17-17
This is a fine condition, very attractive Colt 1851 Navy Fourth Model serial number 114142 made in 1864. The action on this pistol works properly and locks up very tight. All numbers match, including the wedge and the rammer. The grips look great and have almost all of varnish. The numbers and the letters are sharp clear and easy to read. The barrel has 80% plus bright blue; frame, hammer and loading lever have 70-80% case colors, somewhat faded. Almost all of the cylinder scene is very sharp, serial number is very sharp the legend “Engraved by WM Ormsby New York” in tiny font under the serial number is clear and sharp under magnifying glass; no corrosion on cylinder & frame. The bore has 95% plus of the rifling this is a very fine clean, attractive original pistol for the collector. It would make an excellent addition to your collection.
