Manufactured by Springfield armory, a.k.a. National Army Bright. Produced 1831-1844. The majority were converted to percussion making this piece rare in its original design. .69 caliber muzzleloader with 42” round barrel. Correct steel ramrod with button shaped head and bayonet. Lockplate stamped SPRING/FIELD/1838. Left side of stock stamped “C.L.A. 23”
